Will it hurt my performance to drink alcohol while training for a 5k? A marathon? How much can I drink and still be able to train?

I've found that having one drink occasionally does not hurt much, unless it is the day before a race. Alcohol dehydrates the body and I feel like it also negatively affects the healing process. Other than the day before a race, if I drink at night and then run in the morning I sometimes feel the same effects.
